Caring for your Dream Catcher…

Your new art has important work to do and we want it to

last for years and years! Best to limit handling once hung, and

ensure clean hands when cleaning or moving it. It’s recommended that your piece is cleaned whenever you normally clean to prevent build up of dust :)

Dream catchers are designed for indoor use only.

Protect from moisture, excessive wind, and other outside elements.

Ruffled feathers can be smoothed between thumb + index fingers, by gently pinching separated vanes at the rachis (shaft) and carefully pulling out, guiding the barbs together again. Repeat as many times as necessary. Suede flares can be smoothed by very firmly pinching and moving pinched fingers down from top to bottom. You can also lay the entire piece flat, roll the suede tightly into a spiral, and leave for a couple days. The suede will hold the curvature.

Dark pieces should be hung out of very harsh all-day direct sunlight. They have been treated with a UV protectant spray, but the sun’s rays eventually break down all things, so you can significantly lengthen the life of your colors by blocking those rays :)

A clean, damp cloth can brighten up beads but use a clean dry cloth on all metals. Keep all metals utterly free of skin oils and products, as these will speed up the natural oxidation process (which may or may not be polished away).

If your piece contains crystals, these may be dusted with a static duster, wiped or blotted with a clean damp cloth using no soaps, and you can even expose your piece to moonlight (indoors, as always) to energetically cleanse and recharge your crystals with their respective qualities. Rose Quartz should be protected from direct sunlight as it will slowly fade the crystal’s pink hues (but it won’t effect the crystal’s energetic properties).

If your dream catcher has yarn, a gentle shaking out

will keep the fibers fresh and vibrant.
